Character, Animation Rigging
Salary: 20.000.000 - 30.000.000 - Location: Ho Chi Minh City
Description
Design and build high-quality character rigs (bipedal, quadruped, creatures, facial rigs) using Maya, Blender, or other 3D software.
Develop custom rigging tools and scripts (Python, MEL) to streamline the rigging pipeline.
Collaborate with modelers to ensure clean topology for optimal deformation.
Implement skin weighting, blend shapes, and corrective shapes for smooth movement.
Create user-friendly control systems for animators (FK/IK switches, dynamic elements).
Optimize rigs for real-time (game engines) or pre-rendered (film/VFX) workflows.
Troubleshoot rigging issues and provide support to animation teams.
Requirement
Proficiency in 3D software (Maya [preferred], Blender, 3ds Max, Houdini).
Strong knowledge of Python scripting for automation (PyMel, API tools).
Experience with facial rigging (blend shapes, joint-based, or muscle systems).
Understanding of anatomy, kinematics, and biomechanics.
Familiarity with motion capture cleanup and retargeting.
Knowledge of game engine rigging (Unreal Engine, Unity) is a plus.
Portfolio demonstrating clean, functional rigs (include wireframe views & deformation tests).
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with procedural rigging (Houdini, Rigify).
- Knowledge of dynamics (cloth, hair, jiggle rigs).
